OSTEOSET® Bone Graft Substitute
OSTEOSET® Bone Graft Substitute is a patented medical grade calcium sulfate bone graft substitute. As early as 1892, medical literature describes the use of calcium sulfate as a bone graft substitute. Over the past 15 years, scientists and clinicians associated with United States Gypsum (USG) and Wright Medical Technology have extensively studied and characterized calcium sulfate. It was discovered that by engineering the shape and size of the hemihydrate crystals, the resorption rate of the final product could be controlled, providing consistent clinical results. OSTEOSET® Bone Graft Substitute is the product of this research. The pellets offer a biological framework into which new bone can form, and are resorbed at a rate consistent with natural bone formation.
  • Biocompatible and Bioresorbable
  • Purity and Crystallinity
    • The proprietary medical grade manufacturing process insures a crystalline uniformity and purity that results in a predictable biological response.
  • Not Contraindicated in the Presence of Infection
    • Since OSTEOSET® pellets are completely resorbable, there is nothing on which infectious agents may reside or bond.
  • The Most Cost-Effective Bone Graft Substitute on the Market Today
  • Available in a Variety of Sizes and Volumes

Proven Clinically for Trauma

  • Fifty-eight-year-old female sustained supracondylar fracture.
  • OSTEOSET® Pellets utilized as primary graft material
  • One year radiograph demonstrates dramatic healing response.

Proven Clinically for Spine

  •  Iliac bone crest utlized alone (A), OSTEOSET® Pellets utilized
as a bone graft extender with local autograft (B)
