OSTEOSET® 2 DBM graft is a unique bone graft substitute incorporating demineralized bone matrix (approximately 53% by volume) into OSTEOSET® surgical-grade calcium sulfate pellets. These two bone graft materials, each with a long clinical history, provide an ideal combination of osteoinduction and osteoconduction for guided bone regeneration. Unlike many DBM-containing products, every lot of OSTEOSET® 2 DBM graft is bioassayed to ensure its osteoinductive potential. The DBM encapsulated in the calcium sulfate is gradually released over the period of resorption, allowing a steady impact from the range of growth factors found in DBM, including BMP2, BMP-4, and others.
