ADVANCE® Medial-Pivot Knee
You may have seen or read an advertisement that there is only one company whose knee bends and rotates … but, this simply isn't true.
What is true is that each orthopaedic company's implant is designed a bit
differently. Wright has designed the ADVANCE® Medial-Pivot Knee to replicate
the rotating, twisting, bending, flexion, and stability of your natural knee,
so it FEELS more like your natural knee. In contrast to competitive knee implants,
Wright's Medial-Pivot Knee design "stays put" or is more stabile during normal
knee motion as opposed to sliding forward slightly, as seen below.
You decide — Which knee do YOU feel represents the most natural movement?
Medial-Pivot
implant — Notice how the implant stays put during the knee's
natural bending, rotating, twisting motion.
Competitor’s implant
— It actually slides forward a bit with normal knee motion. This
motion would make most patients feel unstable.
When It Comes To Implant Design, There Is A Difference
The research, development, engineering, and manufacturing that resulted in the ADVANCE® Medial-Pivot Knee is very unique and complex. The design was developed in conjunction with top knee surgeons in the United States over five years ago when a simple question was asked: How can we design the best knee implant on the market? One that will most closely mimic the natural motion of our knee anatomy? One we would want our own family members to receive, if they were facing knee surgery?
At that time, most orthopaedic companies were manufacturing knee implants
that were very similar. That just wasn't acceptable to us, here at Wright.
We wanted to develop a superior design, one that was truly differentiated,
and not like the more commodity (common) type of knee designs on the market
today.
Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words, and the animation at the top
of this screen was provided so you could have a visual reference as to why
our knee design is superior to other competitive products. But, to delve into
a bit deeper technical detail, click
