ADVANCE® Medial-Pivot Knee

You (and, perhaps, your patients) may have seen or read an advertisement that there is only one company whose knee bends and rotates, but this simply isn't true.

What is true is that each orthopaedic company's implant is designed a bit differently. Wright has designed the ADVANCE® Medial-Pivot Knee to replicate the rotating, twisting, bending, flexion, and stability of your natural knee, so it FEELS more like the natural knee. In contrast to competitive knee implants, Wright's patented medial-pivot knee design "stays put" during normal knee motion, as opposed to sliding forward slightly, as seen below.

When It Comes To Implant Design, There Is A Difference

Advances in Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) that have occurred over the last few decades have resulted in increased survivorship for both posterior cruciate retaining and substituting designs.^6-9 Improvements in both implant design and instrumentation have been a major factor affecting the long term survivorship of these implants. Despite these improvements, complications still exist, including irregular tibio-femoral kinematics,^10-12 abnormal patellar tracking,^10-14 polyethylene wear,^15-19 and poor range of motion.^19,21 The ADVANCE® Total Knee System was designed to address these issues by maintaining features of successful designs and meeting the following improvement goals:

• Restore normal knee kinematics
• Improve clinical wear rates through increased tibio-femoral contact area and enhanced implant materials
• Optimize clinical range of motion
