"My fracture was more than severe. I had extensive nerve damage and because of my injury, also suffered from carpal tunnel syndrome. The surgery was extensive, but when I awoke, Dr. Slade assured me that he had "hit a homerun!" I fell asleep with the MICRONAIL® (implant) firmly in place ... and without a worry in the world."

Alison underwent the surgery and said, "I am very pleased with the outcome." Alison says she experienced very little pain and a very fast recovery.

"Now that I am approaching 5 months out from surgery, I have returned to normal function including weight lifting and tennis without symptoms. I was able to start strengthening my arm at a very early stage (3-4 weeks). Because of this I feel my recovery has been accelerated and more complete than otherwise would have occurred with less stable and more invasive techniques."

"Based on what I've heard about the immobilization treatments, I feel very lucky that I was treated with the MICRONAIL® implant instead. I was able to use my hands at work and at home quickly, and I'm sure that the motion helped my muscles stay strong, and helped to speed my recovery."

Four and a half months after surgery, Sabrina's left hand is nearly back to normal with full mobility and minimal scarring. She is working part-time at her job and hopes to return to full-time soon. While typing for long periods of time causes discomfort in her right hand, her left hand experiences no pain at all.

"The MICRONAIL® implant was an ideal product for this active, young mother of three employed as a hairstylist," said Mark Warburton, MD. "She was able to bathe her children after just one week and return to work at four weeks."

"I'm back to normal as if nothing ever happened. It really amazes me...Plus, the titanium rod doesn't set off alarms, so that's a bonus."

"When I saw the x-ray, I thought he (Dr. Tan) would never be able to put my hand back together. But, it was fixed and it's almost perfect. This is a terrific device."

Instead of a cast, Stan was put in a plaster splint for a week and could surprisingly wiggle his fingers with ease. Stan said, "People thought that I had carpel tunnel syndrome or a minor wrist injury. No one realized how serious the injury was."

"I had to rush my recovery in order to play, but my wrist held up. Without the MICRONAIL® implant, I wouldn't have my world championship."

"I would recommend the MICRONAIL® System. If someone came up to me and asked me about it I would say certainly do it. I would do it again tomorrow if this happened again. It was a good experience and they did a good job fixing my wrist."

"Since I didn't have a cast, I was able to move my hand and wrist a little bit. This made physical therapy easier since I wasn't as stiff."

"When I was first treated for my broken wrist with just a cast, the pain and discomfort were unbearable. My wrist was swollen and I couldn't even wiggle my fingers because my wrist hadn't been set properly," said Owarrenton. "But then Dr. Tan implanted the MICRONAIL® and now my wrist has completely healed. I can move my wrist without any pain!"
