Case No. 110 Bone Cyst: Femoral Condyle
CASE STUDY | 1 month radiograph.
FIFTY-FOUR YEAR-OLD FEMALE with a painful lesion in the left distal femoral condyle. Frozen section of the exposed necrotic type
material showed no evidence of infection or tumorous process. The defect was thoroughly debrided with a high speed burr. The defect was then grafted with ALLOMATRIX® graft as well as PRO-DENSE® injectable graft. The one month post-op radiograph shows very little resorption of the of the graft.
At four months, dense, newly regenerated bone intimately associated with the residual graft was
evident both on plain film and CT scan.
The patient is now fully weightbearing, pain-free, and reports 100% on the patient-based
Musculoskeletal Society Functional evaluation.
