Case No. 304: AVN: Knee
CASE STUDY | Two weeks post-op.
TWENTY-SIX YEAR-OLD FEMALE with apparent avascular necrosis of the left distal femur and proximal tibia.
The patient has a previous history of AVN in both the right and left knees.
The lesions were currettaged and grafted with approximately 40cc of
PRO-DENSE® graft. The two week films show complete obliteration of the
lesions. The four and seven month radiographs demonstrate slow
incorporation of the graft and dense new bone in close contact with the
residual graft.
The patient is ambulating independently with the occasional use of an assist device. She demonstrates full extension and 120 degrees of flexion and has little pain, with her AVN-type pain completely resolved.
CASE STUDY | Four and seven month radiographs. Note dense rim of new bone surrounding residual graft.
